Angela Pace-Moody (Speaker)
Director of Global Diversity and Inclusion, University of Chicago Booth
Some of you already may be familiar with Angela and her work. For nearly a decade, Angela has served as the inaugural center director of the Bucksbaum Institute for Clinical Excellence at the University of Chicago. Since 2012, Angela has been responsible for the financial, programmatic, and administrative leadership of the $42M endowed institute that focuses on improving the doctor-patient relationship and reducing health care disparities. The Bucksbaum Institute has grown under her leadership to include 30 programs for more than 450 scholars, with local, national, and international initiatives.
Angela has more than two decades of management experience in the corporate, nonprofit, government, philanthropy, and academic sectors. Her management expertise includes strategic initiatives in health care, community development, housing, energy efficiency, and urban planning throughout the United States. She has also worked with the Columbia University Earth Institute and the United Nations on an international development plan for the city of Accra, Ghana. The common thread of Angela's diverse work experience has been to develop and grow programs that advance equity and inclusion across various industries and sectors. She has also actively supported through board and volunteer work organizations that are advancing D&I in arts, education, community development, and media.
Angela earned her BA from the University of Chicago in an inter-disciplinary Social Science program: Law, Letters & Society; she earned her MS in Urban Planning from the Graduate School of Architecture at Columbia University in New York City; and she has been an active participant in several leadership development courses at Chicago Booth.
