Influence and educate current and future leaders. This is a core tenet of our mission at Booth.

Our faculty’s research and thought leadership influences businesses, governments, and leaders around the globe. Our 56,000 alumni hold leadership positions at successful companies and innovative new ventures in more than 120 countries.

In order to educate future generations of world-changing leaders, we designed a leadership curriculum that gives students the insight and action skills they will need to make better decisions and move people and organizations to success. We call this “The Chicago Approach to leadership.” Experimentation is a critical part of this approach—students explore new leadership behaviors and strategies, collect data from those experiments and interactions with people in the workplace, reflect on the data, and share what they learn to get feedback.

The Chicago Approach to leadership provides a powerful, enduring framework for continuing to learn, grow, and succeed as a leader throughout your career.

“The Chicago Approach to leadership is grounded in the idea that leaders need more than knowledge—that they need action skills to achieve their goals and insight skills to learn from their successes and failures. The idea is that leaders can take control of their own professional development and work within the feedback loop of taking action and gaining insight for the duration of their career.”
— Harry L. Davis, Roger L. and Rachel M. Goetz Distinguished Service Professor of Creative Management
