Panel discussion on the role of financial institutions and finance professionals in creating community wealth through financial inclusion
Event Details
Join the Chicago Booth Finance Roundtable, in partnership with the Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation, in a discussion about how financial institutions can better advance a more inclusive economy, in Chicago and beyond. For decades, low-income Americans, in particular communities of color, have struggled to access financial services. Redlining and other forms of credit rationing have existed in American cities since the 1930's, and numerous studies point to these inequitable lending practices as key drivers of ongoing income disparities. In this conversation, leading practitioners and academic experts will discuss ways that financial institutions can help drive more equal access to capital and community wealth. In addition, the speakers will address opportunities for finance professionals to prosper through increased focus on underserved markets.
