Event Details
Last year we again had a full house of about 220 people from 9 alumni clubs (members of DUAL) at our popular Thanksgiving/Year End Holiday dinner where everyone had a grand feast and a wonderful time. We will again be holding this popular event this year at the American Club.
This event is co-organized by the alumni clubs of Chicago Booth, Columbia, MIT, UPenn, etc...
The buffet menu feature turkey, stuffing, ham, mash potatoes and the whole works... The event will be informal with lots of networking and socializing, and will be followed by ......whatever we want or just more socializing.
For the past few years, we had a lucky draw to raise funds for DUAL programs like website maintenance and the DUAL-SMU Technology and World Change Competition. Last year we decided to donate the funds raised to "Food from the Heart" http://www.foodheart.org/. We plan to do the same this year.
We will also offer a great array of prizes. For the chance to participate in the lucky draw, we are encouraging people to donate ($10 for 2 tickets) to the DUAL fund to support Food from the Heart.
This year, we will try having all payments to go through Paypal. With the 3% Paypal charge, the Thanksgiving Dinner charge will be:
$50 for members/spouse of DUAL member clubs
$65 for non-members/spouse of DUAL member clubs
$25 for kids ages 5 to 11
Free for kids below 5
This surcharge on non-members ($15) after deducting any unforeseen expenses will be donated to DUAL.
We will provide each club a Paypal link for your members to register - limiting the number of spots at the start (the number will depend on the number of clubs co-organizing). After 10th November, we will open the registration to everyone. Once we have a full house, we will maintain a wait-list in case someone who had purchased tickets cannot go.
