Chicago Booth alumni are invited to join the CFA Singapore "Careers in Asset Management - Speed Dating".

It is our great pleasure to introduce "Careers in Asset Management - Speed Dating", an event that we are co-hosting with the CFA Society of Singapore.
Simon Ng, '10 (AXP-9), has been the primary organizer of the event and has put together a great panel of recruiters and senior professionals to help make connections and provide insight on various aspects of the asset management industry. As the name suggests, the event will be run in a speed-dating format - small groups of participants will spend 30 minutes with each recruiter/industry professional pair, getting the chance to interact with all industry experts over the course of the event. In addition to Simon, many thanks to Linda Eunson and Arun Kelshiker for helping organize this event.
Registration will be limited to 50 seats, half of which are committed to Booth alums. So do sign up at the earliest if this event is of interest.
Eligibility: Chicago Booth Alumni with at least 6 years of working experience.
Program Overview:
Asset managers serve a critical link between providers and seekers of investment capital. The asset management industry is an integral component of the global financial services sector, responsible for professionally managing more than $68 trillion in assets owned by a broad range of institutional and individual investors.
The investment management industry has undergone a revolution; there is a global call to action for industry participants to play an integral role in strengthening and rebuilding trust in financial services. The investment management industry encompasses multiple disciplines outside of investment roles. From client services to compliance, from human resources to IT and operations, from marketing and sales to legal, there are many roles that are not directly involved in analyzing or making investment decisions.
CFA Singapore has organized several events focused on "Careers in Fund Management", where the majority of participants were in supporting roles. This event is targeted to include the different disciplines within the Asset Management industry, such as compliance, risk management, operations, marketing & sales and management.
CFA Singapore has reached out to recruiters and professionals from the different disciplines in the Asset Management industry (e.g. CEO, CIO, CFO, COO, Head of Compliance, Head of Risk Management) to share their experiences and their story with members of CFA Singapore and Chicago Booth School of Business alumni. The session will be set up in a round-table "speed-dating" format where 1 recruiter and 1 professional from Asset Management will spend 30 minutes with 8-10 participants; the participants will be rotated to another table at the end of each 30-minute interaction. At the end of 3 hours, all participants will have had the opportunity to interact with and learn from all the recruiters and professionals.

The event is free, but a $20 deposit will be collected in case of a no-show.
