Recessions May Be Surprisingly Good for Your HealthAn American Economic Association survey, which drew 9,000 responses from current and former members, indicates there is widespread discrimination in the profession. Among the findings: nearly half of women reported having been discriminated against on the basis of sex, compared to 3 percent of men. Chicago Booth’s Marianne Bertrand headed a committee that oversaw the survey, which was administered by the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago.
