The University of Chicago Booth School of Business is proud to join the Golub Capital Nonprofit Board Fellows Network to accelerate the impact of our Board Fellows Program. As one of seven leading business schools to join the network, this investment will allow Chicago Booth’s newly named Golub Capital Board Fellows Program to enhance nonprofit board leadership development opportunities for students dedicated to using their business education for positive social change while fostering collaboration with other business schools.

“With this gift, the Rustandy Center will enhance and expand its program, creating new opportunities for student sharing, workshops for nonprofit partners, and broader student participation,” said Chicago Booth dean Madhav Rajan.

“Good board members dramatically improve the effectiveness of nonprofits,” said David Golub, president at Golub Capital. “The Golub Capital Nonprofit Board Fellows Network will deepen the pool of impactful nonprofit board members, while fostering collaboration among leading business schools around how to support positive social impact. Our goal is to continue expanding the program to accelerate progress across the nonprofit ecosystem.”

Since 2015, Chicago Booth’s Board Fellows Program at the Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation has prepared over 600 students for future nonprofit board service roles while supporting more than 200 nonprofits, making it one of Chicago Booth’s most popular student programs.

“This is an exciting step forward in expanding the center’s reach and deepening its impact across the nonprofit sector,” said Caroline Grossman ’03, executive director of the Rustandy Center. “We are grateful for the support from Golub Capital to continue inspiring the next generation of business leaders to incorporate nonprofit board service into their careers.”

In addition to the Golub Capital Board Fellows Program, the Rustandy Center is home to one of three Golub Capital Social Impact Labs. The signature program of the Golub Capital Social Impact Lab is IGNITE, a nine-month leadership program for organizations serving the Black community in Chicago, offered in partnership with the Chicago Urban League.
