Background

Rachel Schlund is a Principal Researcher at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Rachel earned her PhD and MS in Organizational Behavior from Cornell University.

Research Interests

Rachel studies consent, compliance, and privacy violations within organizations and society. Rachel’s research distinguishes consent from compliance to examine how compliance without felt consent impacts people at work. She designs interventions that organizations can utilize to ensure that when employees comply, they feel they are doing so consensually. Some of her ongoing work explores the psychology of privacy and, specifically, the causes and consequences of privacy violations.
