Background

Sophie is a PhD student in Behavioral Marketing at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. For two years during her master's studies, she worked at the Chicago Booth Center for Applied Artificial Intelligence led by Dr. Sendhil Mullainathan, where she contributed to deep learning projects focused on addressing racial disparities in healthcare and extracting insights from human communications. Prior to graduate school, she worked as an economics affairs intern at the United Nations, analyzing digital technologies in U.N. member states' public health responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sophie is interested in judgment and decision-making, fairness, and ethical human-AI interactions.
