Harry L. Davis Center for Leadership Leadership Rehearsal
Role-play your next leadership performance.
Friday, November 8 | 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. | Gleacher Center in Chicago
Leadership is a performance art—and at their best, leaders present as genuine and well-practiced. This is the premise of the Leadership Rehearsal, created by the Davis Center for Leadership in collaboration with Black Box Acting Studio.
Leadership Rehearsal is open to Chicago Booth alumni and students who are employed full-time in a professional role.
In this limited-enrollment clinic, participants will:
- receive an introduction to the Meisner Technique, an acting approach that emphasizes emotional awareness and a focus on one's partner(s) over oneself;
- rehearse their approach to a specific upcoming leadership challenge or opportunity;
- and receive feedback from theater professionals and leadership coaches, as well as peers.
Registration is limited to 24 participants to ensure that there is time for everyone to rehearse their scenario. This results in a maximum 6:1 ratio of participants to facilitators.

About
Co-founded in 2009 by current Steppenwolf Artistic Director, Audrey Francis, Black Box Acting is one of Chicago’s most sought after acting schools. Black Box's proprietary acting technique — The Black Box Method — is rooted in Meisner Technique, Viewpoints, and rigorous text analysis. Central to all Black Box training is the tenet that “You Are Enough,” and Black Box's human behavior–based curriculum celebrates this pillar while strengthening students’ emotional awareness and risk taking.
