2021 Registered ReportsThe editors of JAR and Professor Robert Bloomfield as an experiment for the 2017 annual conference, used a new two‐stage editorial process calling for submissions of “Registered Reports.” The core idea of this process is that researchers pre-register the analysis and the journal provides in-principal acceptances to the authors for their studies, irrespective of the results of the analysis. Our process was designed to encourage researchers to engage in research with potentially higher outcome risk that involves gathering new data. By collecting at least some new data, researchers could credibly attest that they did not know the results of their analysis before stating their hypotheses.
On the following web pages, you can view the published registered reports as well as the accepted proposals. We also provide their online appendices, the datasheets and code pursuant to JAR's code sharing and data policy. Finally, you can go inside the Registered Reports conference webpage and watch the authors' presentations.
