The Civic Scholars Program Scholarship at Chicago Booth offers a full-tuition scholarship for Evening MBA and Weekend MBA applicants committed to public or social sector careers.

In addition to taking courses as an MBA student, Neubauer Civic Scholars join a cohort experience that includes specialized programming, dedicated faculty directors, and unique opportunities to engage with industry leaders in the civic space. The experience, partnered with Chicago Booth’s Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation, ensures that you’ll be equipped with business fundamentals, evidence-based research, and practical experience to bolster your social sector work.

The Application Process

The process to be considered for the Chicago Booth Civic Scholars Program Scholarship is straightforward. For additional details, see Part-Time MBA Admissions.

Here’s how the Civic Scholars process takes shape.

  1. To apply, you must start the Evening MBA or Weekend MBA application for the Autumn quarter. Then, in the essay section, select “yes” to the question that asks, “Do you want to be considered for the Civic Scholars Program?”
  2. By selecting “yes,” you are prompted to respond to an essay question that asks, “How would the Civic Scholars Program better equip you for your social impact career post-MBA?" (400 words maximum.)
  3. Faculty directors from the Rustandy Center will review submissions for the Civic Scholars Program Scholarship while the admissions team reviews your application for admissions.
  4. The Rustandy Center faculty directors determine which applicants they want to interview for the Civic Scholars Program Scholarship. These interviews are held virtually with faculty directors and are by invitation only. If you are selected for one of these interviews, you will be notified directly by the faculty directors. If you are not selected for this interview, you will be informed of this decision as you are no longer being considered for the Civic Scholars Program Scholarship.
