I really like the collaboration between the people here at Booth. This kind of team thinking is actually what makes the Booth culture so vibrant. Having a chance to take risks again for two years. Taking the time out of professional work setting, where you can just explore yourself. I am leading one of the economics-focused clubs here at Booth. I use this as an opportunity to actually create an impact. I really believe in us as MBAs, as future leaders, have a responsibility to make a social impact. I currently am launching a nonprofit with five fantastic team fellows.

Our idea for a startup is a crowdfunding platform for people who do not have the financial resources to forward their education. We’re competing in the Social New Venture Challenge. We actually built an entire venture over the course of the first year, and in the end, we’ll compete with several other teams. It was great to see how professors were able to put us in touch with people who have successfully crowdfunded their platforms, alums who helped us navigate and find out some of the bottlenecks of our ideas and actually stress test them. We basically had a personal-accelerator program here at Booth.

Some of my closest friends here at Booth are also from Europe. It was one of those welcoming moments for me at Booth. It’s not just on paper that we say we’re international, but we actually live this kind of culture. In the end, you walk out with understanding why people think differently, what drives them. You get to appreciate the passions of other people.
