Why Chicago Booth?
Designing and running small-business development programs in Puerto Rico has taught me that a strong business education is critical for small-business owners. I also learned of the immense opportunities available for nonprofit organizations to learn from private-sector revenue models, strategic thinking, strategic management, and operations to build sustainability and efficiency in their programs. An MBA at Chicago Booth will help me build relevant skills and networks to improve efficiency in international development organizations.
What skills are you looking to develop at Booth?
From analyzing datasets to developing new business models and plans, I have applied data-driven decision-making skills to my international development work. Booth’s MBA Program will help me develop that quantitative tool kit to make a critical impact in the sector. I also aim to couple general business knowledge with in-depth courses in economics and international business to successfully support under-resourced business owners around the world.
What are your career aspirations?
In the immediate future, I aim to leverage the skills and networks from Booth to grow as a technical expert in development economics and create successful small-business development programs. In the long term, I will apply skills from my Booth MBA to create strong cross-sector partnerships and leadership skills and become a successful social leader in the international development space.
