I had never thought

I would go to business school.

I'm a physical therapist
by initial training.

I have been in health care all along.

I worked with a pharmaceutical company

headquartered in Bombay.

I'm really interested in
enhancing patient experience

in hospitals and particularly focusing

on resource management
within health-care systems.

That's really what encouraged
me to go get an MBA.

I was very pleasantly surprised to learn

that Booth actually has a lot of resources

if you want to work in health care.

Along with my MBA, I'm also
part of the GPHAP program.

It's the Graduate Program in

Health Administration and Policy.

There's multiple schools at the
university that participate.

Students from the Law
School, from the med school,

from the School of Social
Service Administration,

and from the School of Public Policy.

We're working with insurance coders.

They give you an actual live dataset,

you generate an output, and
you make a recommendation.

We are working with doctors.

This morning I was in the operating room

at the University of
Chicago Medical Center

wearing scrubs with my classmates,

looking in on a bypass surgery.

Having that kind of access,

not just to professional resources
but in terms of learning,

I think is very important.

Things at Booth are very student driven,

it's a harmonious bunch of people.

Once I knew that,

Booth immediately became
one of my top choices.

Booth can give you whatever you want.

Priyanka Karandikar: Finding harmony at Chicago Booth

Favorite Class

The Healthcare Lab is a very practical course and gives you hands-on experience in a real-world setting.

Favorite thing to do in Chicago

I love to walk along the lakeshore and listen to jazz at the Green Mill.
