Booth WomenAs Women’s History Month comes to a close, we ask Booth women—students and alumnae—from each of our four MBA Programs to look ahead and share their hopes for the future of women in business. Their responses capture the importance of support, opportunities, community, and optimism as we pursue a more equitable future.
Shelby Wenner: There's so much that makes me hopeful about the future of women in the business world. I think the more that women are able to shine and their ideas are able to grow, the better we're all going to be at the end.
Temitope Mafe: What makes me most hopeful about the future of women in business is the hunger I see in women today.
Adriana Diaz: What makes me hopeful for the future of women in business is this increased pipeline of women entering the workforce.
Imah Effiong: So what we're seeing now is like women at a certain level kind of reaching back and really pulling other women up behind them.
Jennifer LaBarge: In my time at Booth, actually, the fact that I'm surrounded by so many smart, accomplished women, they have no desire to stop and they're like extremely competent and confident
Winifred Awolope: In the coming years, you'll have more women CFOs, you'll have more women CEOs. That's the future I wanna live in. And I'm happy that business schools, for example, are taking up that challenge and encouraging more women to apply.
Azizah Mohamed: I am hopeful that the future women in business brings more diverse teams and better representation to help reduce the gender pay gap
Zeynep Duran: In the future, we will not be talking about the gender in business, but merit and competence only
Angie Tse: My daughter is 10 years old. She's now learning how to build an app. Within two days, she can build a version of the app herself. Young girls these days are really given a lot of opportunities to help them to build up their confidence
Angel Chia: We exchange ideas. We cheer each other on. When I see all of these examples, I'm encouraged. I'm hopeful.
