As the recipient of a Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarship at Chicago Booth, he’s applying the frameworks of the Chicago Approach to his work.
As a director of a fast-growing agency with around 1,000 staff members, I wanted to receive a comprehensive and systematic business management education so that I could lead the agency more effectively and make a greater impact on the social welfare field and society. I am particularly drawn to the emphasis on analyzing problems, generating key insights, and implementing creative solutions of the Chicago Approach.
I have enjoyed the classes very much even though some, like financial accounting, are challenging. I appreciate that I am gaining new tools and insights. This new knowledge has already helped me to see my work from a new perspective.
I’m looking forward to learning in-person once it’s safe to do so, and meeting new friends. I’m also looking forward to visiting the campuses in Chicago and London.
During an information session, I learned that students could take what they learned during study weeks and immediately implement it when they returned to the office. I was inspired by that and it helped me form the impression that Booth’s EMBA program wasn’t only about networking, but rather a program where I could develop the fundamental business management knowledge and the extra skills set that I need to lead my agency.
