Biography

Andrés Sarto’s research interests lie at the intersection of macroeconomics, finance and empirical methods. He has investigated new ways of leveraging micro-level variation across time and space to estimate elasticities and general equilibrium multipliers at the regional and national levels. He has also studied the causes and consequences behind the rise of nonbank lenders in various credit markets, and its interaction with monetary policy. 

Before joining Booth, Sarto was an Assistant Professor of Finance at New York University's Stern School of Business and a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Princeton University.

Sarto received his PhD in Economics from MIT, and his BA and Postgraduate Degree in Economics from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in Buenos Aires.
