Stephen Ritchie is Of Counsel and formerly a Partner in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis. His practice is concentrated in the areas of complex business transactions, with a particular focus on structuring, negotiating and managing the legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, venture capital and growth equity investments, restructurings and workouts. He has also served as lead counsel in the representation of numerous portfolio companies of private equity funds.
In addition to teaching at Booth, Ritchie has also taught at the University of Chicago Law School since 2011.
Ritchie earned a BA from the University of Virginia. He also holds a JD from the University of Chicago Law School, where he was Associate Editor of The University of Chicago Law Review.
