Biography

Ale Breuer is a former founder turned investor with a deep background in venture capital and startup coaching. She is a Founder Partner at LongJump Ventures where she actively invests in and advises startups, with a particular passion for supporting underrepresented founders and fostering inclusivity and diversity in entrepreneurship and venture capital. Ale is dedicated to helping student entrepreneurs through the New Venture Challenge (NVC) and College New Venture Challenge (CNVC). She is known for building strong, meaningful relationships with her students and is deeply invested in their success, both during and after the program. Her entrepreneurial journey began during her MBA at Chicago Booth, where she founded Ezza Nails, a tech-enabled, brick-and-mortar consumer business. Her experience as a venture-backed founder gives her a unique operator’s perspective, which she brings to the classroom.

Ale teaches a course at Booth called Building the New Venture, aimed at helping students understand how to navigate the first 18 months of a business’s lifecycle. She is passionate about guiding founders through the early stages of their ventures, particularly in their pursuit of product-market fit. Drawing from her own entrepreneurial experiences, she offers practical, real-world advice on the challenges founders face. With a strong background in fundraising and a talent for storytelling, Ale excels at helping entrepreneurs articulate their vision and anticipate future obstacles. Her teaching emphasizes the realities of building a business through hands-on, practical learning.

In addition to her work with startups, Ale serves on the Board for the Chicago Chapter of Conscious Capitalism, an organization of executives dedicated to using business as a force for good. She holds an MBA from Chicago Booth, a BA from the University of Notre Dame, and a master’s degree from Dominican University. Additionally, she is a Teach for America alum.
