The Expanding Diversity in Economics (EDE+) Opportunities Hub is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion in economics and fields that draw upon this important skill set by providing opportunities for EDE+ program alumni. The Hub highlights academic year programming, job opportunities, the EDE+ Research Assistant Program, the EDE+ Mentorship Program, and more. The goal is to ensure that EDE+ alumni are exposed to more ways to enrich their path in economics with real world experiences, skill building, and networking.

Chicago Booth Research Professional – Multiple Faculty Matches Available
- Applications will be reviewed starting October 1 on a rolling basis
- This full-time position will entail close collaboration on a number of new and ongoing economics research projects across a wide range of fields. Research topics include public economics, inequality, development, labor economics, finance, macroeconomics, fiscal and monetary policy, behavioral economics, household finance, market design, financial intermediation, trade, urban economics, education, international economics, industrial organization, entrepreneurship, and housing.
Research Professional – John List
- Applications will be reviewed from October on a rolling basis.
- The Research Professional for Chicago Experiments collaborates on new and ongoing research projects with a focus on, but not limited to, the implementation and empirical analysis of field experiments and observational/administrative data. Specifically, the Research Professional is involved in advanced empirical work on labor economics, education/human capital, discrimination, behavioral economics, and other topics within applied microeconomics.

- Research Assistant, the Hutchins Center on Fiscal and Monetary Policy: The Research Assistant undertakes research and policy analysis on a range of economic, health and social policy issues for one or more fellows or senior fellows. Duties for this position include a) research assistance; b) drafting materials and working papers, blogs and other publications; d) verification of statistical calculations, literature searches, and computer work; and e) assisting the fellow and other staff with the management of projects.
- 2025 Fiscal Internship Program - June 2 - August 8, 2025. This program engages students in fiscal policy by providing them with first-hand research experience at public policy institutions in Washington, DC. Over the summer, PGPF Fiscal Interns will have the opportunity to gain substantive policy research experience at a leading organization, work under the direct supervision of a respected scholar, and join a diverse community of experts and students interested in budgetary and economic issues. - Summer 2025 Internship - Chicago or NYC
- Ariel Alternatives (NYC) - The summer internship program at Ariel Alternatives gives college-level students a unique opportunity to learn about the financial services industry by working side by side with seasoned experts. You will gain hands-on leadership experience while learning about the different business channels within the firm.
Build valuable skills and gain exposure to academic research with one of our UChicago faculty during a 10-week, paid summer experience. EDE+ alumni may apply for a paid research assistant position to work with UChicago faculty on research projects during the academic year or during the summer to enhance their skills and experience — an invaluable opportunity for participants applying to graduate programs, or for internships or research assistantships with other organizations or academic institutions.
