Kearney Endowment Supporting
Lifelong Executive Education
for Chicago Booth alumni
Fred G. Steingraber earned his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 1964. Being 25 years old when he joined the global management consulting firm Kearney, Fred rose through the ranks to become Kearney's chief executive officer from 1983 until 2001. This period coincided with the firm's most significant growth, turning the firm into one of the management consulting industry's largest companies and a geographical footprint that increased from 15 offices to 68 globally.
Fred was extremely passionate about giving back to the business and academic community. And because of his heartful generosity in the development of the Fred G. Steingraber-A.T. Kearney Endowment, we are pleased to announce the launch of the “Back to Booth” alumni life-long learning portal—a continuation of his ongoing support of Back-to-Booth programs since 2014.
This new executive education Back to Booth platform is exclusive to Booth alumni. Its objective is to connect Booth’s global business community to the latest faculty research to enhance alumni skills after they leave the MBA classroom. This site will enable Booth alumni to leverage education resources to overcome current and future market disruptions, innovate in their industries, and collaborate with partners and organizations worldwide.
Fred passed away on July 4, 2019, just three days shy of his 81st birthday. We are deeply indebted to his generosity and fervent support of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. His legacy and love of learning will live on through this gift for years to come.
