Benefit from Executive Coaching
Between sessions, you will engage in data-driven coaching to support your rapid leadership development. You’ll have the opportunity to continuously try new skills and
techniques in the workplace and the classroom while receiving valuable feedback
from your coach and peers. This unique approach helps you solidify the abundant classroom learnings and apply the learnings effectively to your career.
Coaching includes:
- 1-on-1 coaching calls with an executive coach to discuss your successes and challenges in applying the course frameworks.
- Group coaching sessions where you'll discuss your learnings with an executive coach along with peers in your cohort, giving you the opportunity to receive peer feedback and develop your own trusted advisory network.
- Coaching sessions include a stakeholder assessment where you'll incorporate feedback from colleagues of your choice to identify growth opportunities. With this confidential survey, you can explore how to implement feedback and growth opportunities from the safety of the classroom.
The ongoing dialogue created through the coaching and assessment is unique to AMP's culture of achieving rapid growth and learning from your own experiences.
AMP is designed for senior-level executives who have achieved rapid advancement in their careers, and are looking for a customized, flexible program that addresses their specific development needs and helps them lead their organizations more effectively.
Most participants are senior-level executives who hold leadership positions one or two levels from the CEO in large organizations or hold C-suite-level positions at midsize companies with significant opportunities for growth. The executives have often been identified as central to the company’s succession plan and serve as members of executive committees, heads of major business units, senior heads of functions, and senior members of the operating group. Positions include senior vice president, vice president, executive director, general manager, managing director, and C-suite.
Since the program is intense, it is vital that applicants possess a commitment to preparation and active engagement. Proficiency in written and spoken English is required for successful participation in the program.

The Core Sessions
The core sessions establish an ongoing discipline of development through Booth's Learning from Experience (LfE) framework and methodology — providing the pathway to reach your leadership goals.
You will be able to:
- Access and own more leadership qualities and skills for the varied roles a leader occupies daily and throughout their lives
- Become more authentic and strategically agile in deploying these qualities when engaging with others
- Lead successfully through a long and progressive career
1. Introductory Session: 'Leader as Person'
"As a senior leader, you are a role model — but what are you modeling?"
The purpose of this program is to increase your impact as a leader. Two critically important factors are a strong understanding of yourself, your strengths, and how to leverage them, and an equally strong understanding of those you interact with and how to engage and motivate them.
In this session, you will learn how increased self-awareness and greater leadership agility can enhance your ability to influence others at the right time in the right way. You will be introduced to new techniques for learning rapidly and effectively from your own experiences. You'll also improve your ability to communicate in an authentic and powerful way. You will learn how to leverage your network of connections and why some senior executives perform better than others.
2. Midcourse Session: Leader and the Organization
Just as personal agility is essential to your career success, developing organizational agility will increase your organization's competitive advantage. Building on the first core week, this session explores how your role as an effective leader is integrated into your organization and how you can drive change, develop a results-driven culture, and create value by identifying new opportunities in engaging and mobilizing your workforce.
3. Capstone Session: Leader and the Community
In today's global economy, risk and opportunity can come from events down the street or on other continents. This final core session explores how to balance your roles as a representative for your interests, your company's interests, and the interests of your profession and community at large. You will also have an opportunity to think deeply about your future plans and your legacy as a leader.

Leadership and Management
AMP had a profound impact on my professional development. The core courses significantly enhanced my self-awareness as a leader, enabling me to refine my leadership style to be more effective in my interactions with my team, the board, and other industry stakeholders. The program equipped me with a diverse set of frameworks that have been invaluable in navigating complex challenges, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic when our business had to rapidly adapt to a new reality. Additionally, the experience has been instrumental in preparing me to thrive in an environment where AI is poised to play a critical role in shaping market strategies. I highly recommend the AMP to anyone looking to accelerate their growth and become a more impactful leader.
—Luis Masroua, President and CEO at H J Baker & Bro., LLC
Healthgrades recently ranked us #1 in Maryland for Orthopedic Surgery and Spine Surgery. I truly believe we wouldn't have achieved this without my participation in the AMP course. Our center has seen significant growth; it was fully built about a year and a half ago. We successfully merged three practices and are now planning to expand our footprint by another 50%. Additionally, we are recruiting more surgeons, neurologists, and pain specialists into our center.
—P. Justin Tortolani, MD, Director at the Spine Institute University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center and Clinical Professor at the University of Maryland Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
My AMP experience has been a personally transformative journey marked by deep self-reflection and introspection. As a result, I have discovered auto-imposed boundaries I was unaware of and practical tools to eliminate or shift them. After this program, I feel better positioned to be a better leader and hopefully a better person.
—Maria Gomez Barea, Chief Operations Officer, Servihabitat
For me, the AMP program provided three things: The first, and perhaps the most expected, was the curriculum, content, access to academic experts, and healthy discussions around various relevant leadership topics.
The second, and perhaps the most meaningful, was an amazing cohort of global leaders with a vast degree of experience and expertise. These have become both personal and professional relationships that I am confident I will lean into for many, many years.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the program offers a moment of pause and reflection. Harry Davis described this as “time on the balcony,” upon which I was able to access my core self, my alignment with my visible self, and the pursuit of my best self. It was a truly rewarding experience.”
—Blair deVerteuil, President, Life Sciences, ATS Corporation
What I enjoyed most about the program was how it got me to think about leadership differently. Often with learning, I expect to take away a tool or a learned skill, and this program felt more thought-provoking. I truly feel like I am accessing different parts of my brain when thinking through complex leadership challenges, which makes me a better leader. For that, I will be forever grateful. Thank you!
—Matt Lyons, Executive Vice President, McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.
This program has been life-changing in various ways. It inspired me to keep learning about myself, my role as a leader, and my purpose as a human being. I am impressed with the quality of the content, the faculty, the students, and even the food. I’ve been able to apply many of the things I’ve learned, the "LfE" is a powerful approach to self-development, the best I’ve experienced in my 20+ years as a business leader.
—Eugenio Calderon, Vice President, Illinois Tool Works Inc.
I really liked the group activities that were exercises to engage the whole team. This group worked well at being open and transparent, so I learned a lot from others to help myself. I am excited that I have all of these great resources in the form of a network and classwork to practice as I continue to rise in my company. I would tell a colleague that this is a great course to help reflect on oneself to become a better leader.
—Joe Newhart, Head of Value Added Sales & Marketing, JBS USA Holdings, LLC
Dividing the program into three sections was a great format. The sessions with the most interaction were more meaningful to me. The closeness of our group surprised me the most.
I’m taking many lessons and experimenting with the social/psychological behavioral elements, which I find fascinating. I would recommend this program to any company interested in investing in their senior leaders to create broader perspectives in all aspects of leadership.
—Heidi DeBenedetti, Chief Administrative Officer and Regional President, Gilbane Building Company
AMP is highly interactive, and you don’t feel lost but part of the class from Day 1. The collegial relationships I made were genuine, with an avid learning spirit shared by all participants. It’s the best interactive and lively program with collaborative group work that offers real solutions to real-life corporate issues. It’s a must for any serious business leader to attend and be a recipient of the many learning processes.
—Terrence Chimanya, Managing Director, Seed Co Limited
The AMP provides the unique opportunity to learn from and collaborate with exceptional colleagues from around the world while gaining invaluable skills and insights about leadership from an incredible lineup of faculty and experts associated with the Chicago Booth School of Business. I am extremely grateful for my time in the program and proud to have participated.
—Nikki Richardson, Head of Corporate Communications, JBS USA Holdings, LLC
As a leader with a technical background and operational responsibility, the new ideas and leadership approaches were very impactful. Putting oneself in the role of a character, playwright, or director changed my perspective and allowed me to be more flexible and effective in my leadership.
—Ryan Palazzo, President, Pipelines, Primoris Energy Services Corporation
I think we all came here to work on our professional skills, but will leave as better human beings. And that’s so valuable because you will not get that elsewhere. We are so lucky to have had the opportunity to meet, observe, and learn from Harry Davis, the epitome of being ‘a good person.’
—Andres Henao, Strategic and Business Development Director, SUPER DE ALIMENTOS SAS
Over the years, I've known and engaged with several undergraduate and graduate students from Chicago Booth; therefore, I just knew the level of rigor and the caliber of the other students would be unparalleled and provide the best experience.
Being able to make connections with fellow participants from all over has been great. I think the social capital piece is a huge part of the AMP experience.
—Kelly Jin, Vice President for Community and National Initiatives at the Knight Foundation.
This program was exactly what I needed to help me transition to my new role. The lessons that I learned from AMP were immediately applicable in terms of developing strategy, evolving company culture, and driving bottom-line results. Not only have I benefited from world-class professors, I've also met an invaluable network of business leaders who have helped me to grow both personally and professionally.
—Elana Schrader, M.D., Vice President, Marketing Blue Cross and Blue Shield Florida
I had the option of attending any of the top-tier business schools, but for me, Chicago Booth was the only choice. Booth has an excellent reputation for providing students with cutting-edge information that can be immediately applied...For anyone who’s interested in remaining on the leading edge of the most current business information, and who wishes to engage in data-driven discussions with proven business leaders, Booth’s Advanced Management Program is a great program to take.
—Bill Mairson, Deputy Principal Associate Director at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
The faculty are top-notch and really know how to connect with the vast variety of students in each class. They become part of our team over the many months of the program and are always willing to discuss specific issues, connecting the topics with our real-world situations.
—Michael McKelvy, President and CEO of Gilbane Building Company.
Chief Learning Officer/Executive Sponsor Perspective
Kiewit has a long history of developing our leaders. You have to continuously sharpen the edge of the saw with external perspectives, methods of thinking and approaches to business. When we know that someone is going to have a senior role in our organization, we use the Advanced Management Program as a way to sharpen that saw and give them that external perspective and experience.
The people we've put through the program speak very highly that they're growing, they're being challenged, and ultimately they're able to come back and apply those skills. More importantly, as executive leaders of the business, we can see a difference in the individuals. It forces them to step outside their comfort zone, so you see a higher level of confidence. They have the ability to look at problems differently, in nontraditional ways. They've been able to interact with a different network of people and had the ability to think about work in a setting with little or no risk so that when they come back they've had the time to step out of their normal day-to-day work and can respond to it with a lot more confidence.
—Michael G., Vice President of Human Resources, Kiewit
