Event Details
Roughly 1/3 of working age adults in the United States has an arrest or conviction record, which can pose a significant barrier to employment, supporting one's family, participating in society, and overall economic growth. Criminal record remediation (i.e., sealing or expungement) for those who have served their time, can be a panacea to the stigma associated with a record...if you can get it.
Join us for an exclusive discussion around expungement, as part of the National Fair Chance Hiring Conference, where we will bring students and alumni from across the University to talk with national expungement leaders: what's working, what's not, and what's the future. Attendees will leave with a greater understanding of the current realities of the process, the vision for expanded access through policy improvements, and how expungement can be a win-win for employers. The event will include a keynote speaker, panel of policy practitioners, attorneys, employers, and those with lived experience and will be followed by a reception with small bites, wine, and beer.
