This year’s EXP-3 reunion in Heidelberg will take place on the first weekend in October. Please mark your calendars! A program has been created that tries to reflect the history and character of Heidelberg as one of the most romantic and historic cities of Germany. Please check out the below proposed program.

Program of the 2009 EXP-3 Reunion Weekend Oct. 1-4, 2009 in Heidelberg, Germany Thursday, Oct. 1st -Arrive Frankfurt or Stuttgart Airport (there is a small airport in Mannheim only few kms away from Heidelberg, but only for small carriers) -Transfer to Heidelberg Hotels via train, taxi or TLS shuttle service approx. 1h -20:00 Get together at Kulturbrauerei (AW) Friday, Oct. 2nd -10:00 Morning stroll through the Old Town – guided by Johannes & Artur -11:00 Meeting at the Town-Hall with Dr. Würzner, Mayor of Heidelberg (JB) -11:30 Walk up to the Philosophenweg (the philosopher’s path) – stunning view overlooking the town & castle (somewhat sportive for those who dare to exercise a little bit) – otherwise free time for shopping and strolling through the city -13:00 Small lunch -14:30 Bus-transfer to Deidesheim, Pfalz -16:00 Coach ride through the vineyards and wine tasting (JB) -18:00 Time to relax or walk through Deidesheim -19:00 Dinner at Reichsrat v. Buhl – ex Chancellor Kohl’s favorite restaurant… (JB) -22:00 Drive back to Heidelberg and the hotels Saturday, Oct. 3rd -Start the day with a good pint of fresh beer from your in-hotel brewery -9:30 Cable car up to the Heidelberg Castle, one of Europe’s biggest castles – guided tour of the castle with the curator of the castle (JB) -Lunch at the castle (JB) -14:00 Boat cruise (yes, we need to have one!) on the romantic Neckar to Neckarsteinach – seeing 3 castles along our way - AW -Descent to the Hotel at your convenience and time at your disposal -14:00 In case the weather should not be at its best: Visit of the Automuseum Carl Benz (inventor of the automobile) in Ladenburg and visit of the vintage care collection and wonderfully restored original automobile factory -16:50 Back to the Hotel -19:30 Dinner at one of the most typical and classiest restaurants of Heidelberg: Der Weisse Bock (AW) & Presentation of next year’s reunion candidates & voting -For the brave ones: Stroll over to Heidelberg’s oldest student bar (AW) Sunday, Oct. 4th For those that stay on for the day: -10:00 After a 30 minute bus ride: Meeting with Richard Fischer, artist and famous flower photographer at a convent turned studio in Rauenberg -Stroll through his studio loft -Introduction to the art of photography: Live demo in the studio -Lunch barbecue in the gardens of the former convent -14:00 Back to the hotel (arrival 14:30) -For those who stay on: Afternoon coffee & tea at Artur & Bianca’s home -Goodbye and transfers to the airport…
