Background: Earlier this year Governor Jay Inslee signed HB 2023 into law making equity Crowdfunding legal in Washington State and giving startups an innovative new way to raise funds. Under the bipartisan measure, a Washington business could raise up to $1 million a year from Washington investors by selling securities of relatively small value. This exciting piece of legislation will certainly change the way entrepreneurs fund their companies in the future, but there is a lot more to it that creating your Crowdfunding campaign.
