Koru's Story with Josh Jarrett and Dan Levitan
Koru Co-Founders Kristen Hamilton (founding partner at Onvia, COO at World Learning) and Josh Jarrett (HBS '03, former head of Higher Ed Innovation at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and McKinsey & Co Consultant) were troubled by two realities. On one hand, employers have little engagement with and influence on traditional higher education. What students learn and experience in college does not necessarily align with what employers are hiring for, and employers have a hard time finding qualified applicants.
What if college students and recent grads could gain the embedded experience, business skills, and network they need to get hired and make immediate impact at leading companies? That was the burning question and idea behind Koru.
This idea attracted the attention of Maveron and Dan Levitan (HBS '83), who launched the venture capital fund with Howard Schultz. Dan has quite an eye for investments and enjoys helping future entrepreneurial leaders—among other things, he sits on the Board of the HBS Rock Center for Entrepreneurship.
Join us for a fun night as we learn about how two Harvard alums are making an impact and what they've learned along the way. Koru will host the bar and provide appetizers.
