David Maley (Speaker) '84
Chief Investment Officer, 1102 Partners
David Maley, CFP®, MBA '84 is the Chief Investment Officer of 1102 Partners, a multi-family office he founded in 2021 with his wife Judy (Solomon) Maley, MBA '84. He provides investment management and a wide range of financial planning advice to a select group of high net worth clients. He also manages a micro-cap equity strategy for other family offices and individuals.
David has 40 years of investment experience, most recently at Ariel Investments where for 12 years he headed up the firm's Micro-Cap and Small-Cap Deep Value strategies. Other experience includes 16 years serving ultra-high net worth families as a portfolio manager at Harris Bank, and 8 years in institutional equity derivative sales at Goldman Sachs. David also founded and ran Maple Hill Capital Management, the first home for his micro-cap strategy, in 2002.
David earned his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he received a full merit scholarship after graduating from the University of Notre Dame with High Honors.
David is a national-class age-group distance runner, competing at distances from 5k through the marathon, and was named Chicago Area Runners Association's Senior Male Runner of the Year in 2022 and 2023.
