During a Business Forecast Dinner in Boston in February of 2007, GSB Emeritus Professor Bob Aliber presciently forecast the economic situation in which we now find ourselves. On Tuesday, December 2, come hear his next economic forecast.

Event Details

Professor Aliber developed the Program of International Studies in Business and the Center for Studies in International Finance at the Graduate School of Business. He has consulted to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and to other US government agencies, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, and to research institutes and private firms, testified before committees of the Congress, and lectured extensively in the United States and abroad. He has also written extensively about exchange rates, and international financial and banking relationships and policy problems. Professor Aliber co-authored the classic book on financial crises, Manias, Panics and Crashes: A History of Financial Crises along with Charles Kindleberger and Nobel Prizer winner Robert Solow, both of MIT. This book is recommended as essential reading by many (eg, 7 citations in WSJ since the collapse of Lehman on 9/16). This event is sponsored by the UofC New England Office in Boston.
