Why did you enroll in SBSP?

A

I had minimal business exposure before entering this program. Besides some part-time event planning work, mainly for myself as a classical singer, and PR and marketing internships for my university, my background was focused heavily in the performing arts. This program opened up so many doors for me and, more importantly, offered me a completely new way of looking at the world.

Did your experience in SBSP grant greater insight into what studying for an MBA is like? If so, how?

A

I plan to pursue my interest in marketing and business strategy combined with the arts. In a few years’ time, I would like to apply for an MBA, and I may also consider consulting. I still practice singing every day, but I’m enjoying the opportunity to take my career in an exciting new direction.

What did you think about the academic experience?

A

The program taught me a lot about efficiency, risk-taking, and leadership, and how I can apply those to my work and career development. Having taken my last quantitative course seven years ago, the program marked a paradigm shift for me in many ways. SBSP also challenged me to live up to the level of academic intensity required in an MBA program. Attending was an important personal step, and I am very grateful for the experience. It also introduced to me the idea of pursuing an MBA in the future, which I hadn’t considered beforehand.
