Nicolas Guillen Class of 2014
Undergraduate school/major: I graduated from Baruch College with a degree in finance and investments.
Prior to Booth: I worked closely with regulatory capital as part of the credit risk team at Morgan Stanley developing algorithms to calculate capital under the new Basel regulations for OTC derivatives and other products. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, I worked in private wealth management at UBS Financial Services. I also served as an advisor to various not-for-profit organizations and as the vice chairman of the board of EIC, an organization that serves the Jackson Heights community in New York.
Concentrations: Entrepreneurship, finance, and strategic management.
Activities: I am a member of the Management Consulting Group, Net Impact, Soccer Club, Latin American Business Group, European Business Group, and Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital Group.
Career plans: I'd like to work in a consulting firm, hopefully in the area of development and finance.
Why did you choose Chicago Booth? Other than the school's prestige, amazing faculty, and flexible program, Booth offered me an all-new experience with an amazing class of top-level professionals. I visited Chicago last summer and I knew I wanted to come and live here.
Use three adjectives to describe your experience at Chicago Booth: Exciting, enriching, and fun.
What do you consider a "must visit" place or "must do" activity in Chicago? I think everyone must go to a concert at Navy Pier, grab a drink, and look at the city at night. Also, if you get a chance, go to the opera or a jazz/blues concert.
Ask me about...: Living in Latin America, recruiting for investment banking, consulting, or entrepreneurship.
