Nebiu Mela Class of 2013
Undergraduate school/major: I graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in electrical engineering.
Prior to Booth: Prior to Booth, I was a consultant at Accenture.
Activities: African-American MBA Association, Investment Banking Group, High-Tech Group, Chicago African Business Club, Emerging Markets Group, Milton Friedman Group.
Why did you choose Chicago Booth? First, Booth's reputation in the finance community is second to none. Second, Booth offers more flexibility with regards to course selection than any of the other MBA program. The program offers 14 different concentrations including economics. Most concentrations are comprised of four courses, so I knew I'd have plenty of options to choose from. Third, diversity, the unpretentiousness of the school, and the social aspect were attractive to me.
What do you consider a "must visit" place in Chicago? Millennium Park, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Chicago River, Wrigley Field, improv clubs, Taste of Chicago.
Ask me about...: The banking recruiting process, academic concentrations, diversity at Booth, social life.
