The Annual Fund

Did you know that in the 2010 - 11 fiscal year the Chicago Booth Annual Fund raised more than $5 million from over 7,500 donors?

These funds are essential and help Chicago Booth remain a leader in the marketplace of ideas.

The Annual Fund donations Chicago Booth receives from alumni, students, and friends provide a key stream of sustained core support for existing programs and seed money for new initiatives.

The Annual Fund helps Chicago Booth:

  • Close the gap between tuition and the total cost of educating a student - Tuition and fees constitute only 59 percent of Chicago Booth’s revenue. Support from private donors helps to close the gap between tuition and the total cost of educating a student. Without these crucial funds, we would lose our competitive advantage over our peers.
  • Provide scholarship support for the best and brightest young business minds - We awarded more than $9.1 million in scholarship support last year, enabling the brightest students from around the world to attend Chicago Booth. Average GMAT scores have climbed steadily in the past decade. This year, we enrolled a record number of full-time students, a testament to the strength of the Chicago Booth brand and the Chicago approach to business education.
  • Recruit and retain the world’s finest, discipline-based faculty - Chicago Booth's reputation as a premier business school is built on our unparalleled faculty. The sharpest minds in business make the Chicago approach to business education possible. This year, we hired five new tenure-track faculty, established four new endowed professorships, and awarded 15 faculty fellowships.
  • Produce the ideas that shape business thought - When major news publications like the Economist and New York Times are looking for expert opinions on topics ranging from the financial crisis to the health care debate, they come to Chicago Booth. Keystone Chicago Booth events such as the annual Management Conference and the Global Leadership Series allow Booth faculty to engage with our alumni and broader community to discuss the issues shaping business thought. Your support is instrumental in increasing this intellectual capital and maintaining our competitive advantage in new business ideas.
