Driving Directions:

The University Club of Palo Alto is on a frontage road parallel to (& on East side of) Foothill Expressway. The frontage road is a one way (Northbound) named Miranda and the entrance is from Hillview Ave which is one block South of PageMill road.


From PageMill Rd and Foothill Expy, head south on Foothill one intersection and turn left onto Hillview Ave. Take immediate left and head North on Miranda parallel to Foothill North bound. The University Club is on the right. Enter grounds and park by the clubhouse. The entrance is at front of the clubhouse.

Rick Kimball, Chicago MBA '83, is a co-founder of Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV), and has been a venture capitalist and technology investor for 26 years.

Since founding TCV in 1995, Rick has led the firm to become a leading private equity and venture capital firm with over $7.7 billion under management and six family of funds to date. TCV is now one of the largest private equity and venture capital firms focused solely on information technology companies, and has focus areas that include Internet, Financial Technology, Infrastructure & Communications, and Software & Services.

With Rick at the helm, TCV has guided over 40 companies through initial public offerings and over 25 companies through strategic sales. Some of Rick's investments at TCV have included Alteon WebSystems (sold to Nortel), Metapath Software (sold to Marconi), RiskMetrics Group, Vastera (sold to JP Morgan), and Xylan (sold to Alcatel), amongst many others.

Preceding TCV, Rick was a Managing Director at Montgomery Securities, where he spent over 10 years focusing on telecommunications and data communications as both a venture capitalist and senior equity research analyst. Rick's research received number one Institutional rankings from Greenwich Associates and "Home Run Hitter" accolades from Institutional Investor Magazine.

Rick graduated Cum Laude from Dartmouth College with an A.B. degree in History and received his M.B.A. with an emphasis in finance from the University of Chicago.
