Email4Life

Email4Life is a free email forwarding service available to all Chicago Booth alumni. Once you graduate, you can keep receiving messages to your Chicago Booth email address through the email service of your choice (Gmail, Yahoo!, Hotmail, etc.).

All you need to do is to provide the email address you want to forward your Booth emails to and we will automatically set up the forwarding service for you. Just log in to the portal and select “Forward Your Exchange Email” link.

Email Domain Change Notification

Starting June 1, 2012, Chicago Booth is legally required to stop using the ChicagoGSB.edu email domain by Educause - an organization that regulates higher education internet domain names. In other words, the ChicagoGSB.edu email domain will no longer be associated with Chicago Booth and will be permanently deactivated.

Under Educause rules, all higher education institutions - including Chicago Booth - are permitted only one domain name, unlike commercial internet domains like .com or .net. Read more about the higher education domain regulations >

How the Change Affects You

All alumni have a ChicagoBooth.edu email address. If you are using an email that ends in @ChicagoGSB.edu then replace the end of your address with @ChicagoBooth.edu. For instance, if you have been using johnsmith123@ChicagoGSB.edu, you should start using johnsmith123@ChicagoBooth.edu at your earliest convenience.

If you are using an email address that ends in @gsb.uchicago.edu, your email address will not be affected by this change.

Due to the nature of email forwarding services like Email4Life, the update can only be managed by you. Our computing services department is unable to make these updates automatically on your behalf.

Steps you need to take by May 31, 2012:

    1. Send an email from your ChicagoBooth.edu email informing your contacts of your new email address. If you have a large contact list, you may wish to send a series of emails to avoid a bounce back.

    2. Update your contacts from ChicagoGSB.edu to ChicagoBooth.edu, so fellow Booth alumni continue to receive messages from you after May 31.

    3. Update your email address on any websites that send regular emails to your ChicagoGSB.edu account. Such sites might include LinkedIn, Facebook, or any other services to which you are subscribed to receive newsletters or updates.

    4. If you are using your @ChicagoGSB.edu email to send messages, you will need to update your email account settings with your preferred email provider (like Gmail, Yahoo!, or Hotmail) to keep sending emails from your @ChicagoBooth.edu account.
